Priority Funding Opportunity: Keeping Kids off Drugs, Alcohol, and Other Risky Behaviors

The Children’s Services Council is opening its priority area “Keeping Kids in School” for the 2022-2023 funding year.

The Priority Funding Opportunity proposal application aligns funding priorities with community indicators that Children’s Services Council believes its funding can impact.  The direct community indicators aligned with the priority area “Keeping Kids off drugs and alcohol and other risky behaviors” are:

  • Teen Birth rate
  • Substance Abuse
  • Alcohol
  • Marijuana
  • Cigarettes
  • Binge Drinking

The Priority Funding Opportunity proposal application requires applying agencies to demonstrate how their proposed program’s main focus and program impact (outcomes) are directly aligned with at least one of these community indicators.

In addition, applicants will be required to complete a program narrative and budget.  While the budget is similar to past funding applications, the program narrative includes new sections because it is an open competition application.  The new sections include Organization Background and Target Population.

Funding for programs selected will begin October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. Program funding is on a monthly reimbursement basis. Additionally, funded programs will be required to submit quarterly outcome and demographic reports as detailed in the program contract.
